Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: Rahul Krishna Nanda, a final year student from Electrical Engineering, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla got a splendorous opportunity to represent Odisha at the National Governance Tour hosted by the Chhatra Sansad India.
Students from prestigious institutes like IITs, IIMs, NLUs were selected as delegates for their respective states with a chance to meet and interact with Visionaries from the Public and Private Sector as well as the Government so that they can learn from the best and inspire their fellow Indians. Rahul was selected by the CSI through an interview to represent Odisha from VSSUT along with 26 others from IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIM Indore and other premier institutes for this year’s national Governance tour, called InterNation.
This governance tour was organised from 5th January to 12th January in Mumbai and Goa, giving Rahul a rare privilege to meet prominent business figures like the real estate tycoon of Mumbai, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Mr. Pramod Kumar, CEO of Barclays India and CEO of Goa’s first Unicorn startup, Molbio’s founder Mr. Sriram Natrajan. Along with this he had one on one interaction with the executive heads of top brokerage firms BSE, NSE as well as their regulatory SEBI which helped him understand the working of the stock market of India and their regulations. The tour also included interaction with the political leaders of both the states, Shri Chandrakant Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Higher & Technical education of Maharashtra, Shri. Sripad Nayak, Union minister of Goa and Youth Leader Mr. Aaditya Thackeray.
Along with meeting personalities, our State’s delegate got the chance to visit the High court of Mumbai at Goa and Vidhan Sabha of Goa.
Rahul Nanda proudly dedicates his achievement to his institution, VSSUT Burla, and its incubation center, V-ASSIST, for their steadfast support throughout his journey. As student entrepreneur, he embarked on his startup journey at the young age of 18, focusing on empowering local manufacturers in Odisha to transform into national brands with a pan-India presence. Recognized for his innovative contributions, he was previously honored by Shri Naveen Patnaik as the top innovator of the state. Now in his final year, Rahul actively mentors young innovators from premier institutions like IITs, NITs, and others through his community, The Vibe Club, guiding them in building their own startups. He views this transformative tour as an opportunity to further develop his startup and enhance Odisha’s startup ecosystem through the exposure gained. With a vision to represent Odisha on an international platform, Rahul is committed to helping the state government establish Odisha as the Startup Hub of India.
