Pushkara Review: A Well Made Odia Movie

It was a working Thursday and the hall was occupied with almost 80 per cent seat and all the viewers were clapping during the climax. Yes, we are talking about Odia movie Pushkara.

Pushkara, adapted from the novel Nadabindu, the movie is a traditional post-death ritual blended with an uncommon love story.

Story: Nilakantha, played by popular actor Sabyasachi Mishra falls in love with Suanda (Supriya), who belongs to rich family in Puri. Nilakantha’s father Ghana Nana (Ashrumochan Mohanty) shifted to Puri and performs devotional rituals in the city. He wants his son Nilakantha to learn Sanskrit and become a great ‘pandit’. However, the movie takes a twist when he meets Sunanda and falls in love with her.
