Minister Ashok Chandra Panda performs groundbreaking ceremony of 7 playgrounds in Ekmara Constituency

Ashok Chandra Panda today performed groundbreaking ceremony of seven playgrounds in Ekmara Constituency.
Bhubaneswar Central MLA, Ananta Narayan Jena, BMC Mayor Sulochana Das, BDA-VC Blawant Singh, local corporators and other officials were also present during the event


Panda laid foundation stones for seven playgrounds of Jadupur Football ground at Dumuduma,Kapil Prasad High School, Bajrangi play ground at Ghatikia, UP School play ground at Ghatikia, Badagada High School, Kolathia play ground near AMRI Hospital and Unit-VIII Boys High School at Gopabandhu Nagar.


The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC), Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) are the executing authorities of these playgrounds.
These playgrounds will have multi-sports facilities such as cricket, football, tennis, basketball and volleyball. There will be seating space along with separate changing room and toilets both for boys and girls. Besides, there will be provisions of open gym, parking space, walking track, drainage and illumination.
Minister Ashok Chandra Panda sought all kinds of cooperation from local community during construction of theses playgrounds. “Bhubaneswar is considered as the Sports Capital of India and these playgrounds will supplement the existing sports infrastructure of Bhubaneswar,” said the Minister.


BDA Vice-Chairman Balwant Singh said that the construction of the playfields will be completed by June. “In the first phase we will develop as many as 19 playgrounds in various parts of Bhubaneswar. These playgrounds will help emerging players to do well in sports and make city of fit citizens ,”said Singh.
