Crores of Windows users across the globe on July 19 experienced the ‘Blue Screen of Death’ error. This error caused the computer to suddenly shut down or restart.
Blue Screen of Death and other key words were trending on social media platforms throughout the day. Odisha Police also joined the trending to create awareness on cyber fraud.
Odisha police on its X account shared a poster asking people not to click on any suspicious links they get in their message box.
“Clicking on unknown or suspicious links could result in the loss of your personal information and money,” Odisha Police said in the caption while the poster read, “Think before you click! Don’t fall for any suspicious links in your SMS box.”
According to reports, the Microsoft error, caused due to a CrowdStrike ‘Falcon Sensor’ update, affected airlines banks, stock markets, and other businesses across the globe.
Meanwhile, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, “Yesterday, CrowdStrike released an update that began impacting IT systems globally. We are aware of this issue and are working closely with CrowdStrike and across the industry to provide customers technical guidance and support to safely bring their systems back online.”
