Bhubaneswar Traffic Management: Commissionerate Police Win Hearts with Live Updates During High-Profile Event

Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: Bhubaneswar recently hosted the prestigious “59th DGsP and IGsP Conference”, attended by top police officials, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and NSA Ajit Doval. Given the high-security nature of the event and threats from Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, the Commissionerate Police ensured tight security in the city, implementing multiple checkpoints and NAKAs.
While such measures often lead to traffic congestion, the Commissionerate Police took a commendable step by providing live traffic updates on social media platforms. These updates helped citizens navigate congestion and plan their commutes accordingly, reducing the potential inconvenience caused by the security arrangements.
People of Bhubaneswar praised this initiative, highlighting its role in reducing anxiety and ensuring smoother movement during such mega-events. Social media became a real-time tool for public engagement, showcasing how technology can bridge gaps in urban traffic management.
However, citizens also suggested extending this live traffic update system year-round to address routine congestion and improve traffic flow.
The Commissionerate Police’s approach during the event serves as an example of efficient traffic management under challenging conditions, earning public trust and applause. People suggested that continuing and expanding such initiatives could make Bhubaneswar smarter and more commuter-friendly.
