Akshita Bhanj Deo Appointed Editor-in-Chief of Travel + Leisure India and South Asia

Asia’s leading media company BurdaLuxury appointed Akshita Manjari Bhanj Deo, a member of royal family of Mayurbhanj, Odisha, as Editor-in-Chief of Travel + Leisure India and South Asia.

She is the youngest daughter of Maharaja Praveen Chandra Bhanj Deo and Maharani Rashmi Rajyalakshmi Bhanj Deo of Mayurbhanj.

In this role, she would lead the editorial team for the brand, along with defining the editorial strategy and developing new campaigns. Akshita began her tenure Monday at the magazine’s office in Bangkok.


Akshita, a former TEDx speaker, and previous manager at Dasra, has led numerous events to influence philanthropic perspectives and foster community building among HNI and UHNI families.
She brings a global perspective to the brand, having lived and worked in Singapore, New York, and India.

It may be noted that due to her efforts, Mayurbhanj was listed among the world’s top 50 destinations for tourists by the renowned Time magazine.
