The Healing Touch’ delivers a big message on the Covid pandemic.
It has already ruined millions. A huge chunk have been affected and lakhs have lost lives. Every nation has been trying to combat the disease for which it is indispensable to be conscious physically and mentally strong and healthy.
Covid patients undergoing treatment are having panic attacks leading to acute mental depression with unexplained fearfulness, nervous breakdown, anxious thoughts which is more debilitating than the infection itself at the physical level.
This impact at the mental level has led to deaths during the 1st & 2nd wave & loss of immunity among the patients. Rising mental depression, anxiety, nervousness, mental pressure and sleeplessness are causing deaths & suicidal thoughts among the Covid patients. Maintaining appropriate mental balance, improving self- esteem and cultivating positive thoughts shall lead to rise in immunity to combat the pandemic endorsed by the WHO.
This Film mirrors the above reality. A Corona infected husband (patient) is battling for life in the ICU of a Covid Hospital. Despite best efforts, the Doctor finally gave up.
Being on the verge of death, the patient, earnestly asks for the Doc’s Mobile to talk with his wife for the one last time. The Doctor agrees & observes the conversation between them & how the wife through constant positive vibes inspires the husband and brings back his life from his death bed.
This short film produced by Neela Mohapatra directed by Dr. Sweta Kumar Dash as also designed the concept, story and screenplay & Sujit Mukherjee has co-scripted and Associate Director.
Gargi Mohanty and Rajendra Padhi have acted as wife and husband respectively & Kunal Ambikesh Hota have assisted as DoP.
