Mumbai, Feb 11: India’s Got Latent, a comedy show on Youtube which gained huge popularity within a short period due to its unique ‘unscripted’ format and dank humor, which the youth particularly enjoyed, has now landed in grave trouble.

As the show welcomed numerous content creators, and celebrities in every episode to judge contestants, among them was the top YouTuber known for his podcasts Ranveer Allahbadia.

In the latest episode of India’s Got Latent, Ranveer pulled a derogatory joke on parents which netizens didn’t take lightly.

Starting from social media to ministers, everyone demanded action against the latter and the makers of the show (Samay Raina) for crossing the line between comedy and obscenity.

Even though Ranveer shared an apology video after facing backlash for his remarks, the question is still rife, how far we can go in the name of comedy?

This incident was a clear act of disrespecting the sanctity of freedom of speech. The new trend of comedy known as (dank) humour has made particularly the youth immune to moral ethics.

The purpose of comedy is to make people laugh rather than hurt any sentiments may it be religious, colour or gender.

Ranveer being one of the top podcaster in the country who has millions of followers which includes children as well should refrain from making such careless move.

The government should set up necessary guidelines to curb such content from getting viral and make an example out of it, so that people will refrain from hurting cultural sentiments just for the sake of comedy.
