Koraput: Lamtaput RI, peon in Vigilance net for Rs 10K bribe

Vigilance officials on Tuesday nabbed the Revenue Inspector (RI) and peon of Lamtaput Circle under Machhkund Tehsil in Koraput district for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person.


The accused have been identified as Revenue Inspector Bijay Kumar Bagh and Rohit Kumar Padhy, peon.
According to officials, Bagh and Padhy have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demand and acceptance of bribe Rs 10,000 from a complainant for demarcation of his land.


The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from Padhy and seized, said officials.


“Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Bagh, RI and Sri Padhy, Peon from DA angle. In this connection, a case under section of 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Bagh and Padhy,” informed officials.
